I am an honest and adventurous person. I love exploring and finding new places. Also, I enjoy photography and being able to see new things. The ocean is a huge part of my life, i am always on the water and like spending every second i can on the ocean.

I'm a relatively openminded athiest... I respect other peoples' beliefs and religions, if they respect my own standpoint. I like biking, but not competitively. I like to draw, but have much room to improve. I'm calm, quiet until engaged with other people in some sort of activity, show, etc.

I like to consider myself simple; I don't ask or expect much from life.

I'm still the kid that takes everything apart, stares at it for hours on end and on rare occasions manages to get it all put back in working order.

I can be found most nights in a hospital room helping deliver babies, helping new moms breastfeed and changing diapers. I am so lucky to have found my calling and be able to follow its path. I love my job and hope that you love whatever it is you do. I moved away for a bit and missed Maine so much that I moved back home a few months ago; one of the best decisions I've ever made. Being able to spend time with my family is priceless; I love being around people who truly want each other to be happy and support each other through everything. I feel pretty settled in the rest of my life, and want to share my happiness with those around me.

I like most people. This doesn't make me a nice person, though. I don't like the judgmental or overly narrow-minded ones. I'm really not interested in people who really believe that Fox News is "fair and balanced".

I can get really high-strung over coffee, work, and/or school (which has ended for now, thank goodness). With enough sleep and good food, though, I can be pretty easygoing. (Quitting coffee in October was one of the good decisions of 2009.)

I like laughing. It gets a little embarrassing at the most interesting moments.

My attention span is nonexistent. I also apparently get really distracted in conversations and talk like a comment thread.

I take photos of everything. Don't say I didn't warn you.

I write a lot, in secret.

I cook a lot, and I like to experiment: I'm debating whether or not to make a batch of bacon chocolate-chip cookies. <<DigitalAdrianne>> says I should. If I like you enough, I will feed you until you beg for mercy.

I knit and crochet. I have enough yarn to theoretically bury a person (I'm trying to manage it, okay).

I am geeky. It's just one of those things, I guess. My idea of a rocking Friday night is chess club. I can probably solder better than you, and I collect Rubik's cubes.

I like to sing when I'm alone, or drunk during karaoke night (do you know any good places in the area?).

It is very hard to write about yourself because I think the best way to find out about someone is to ask. Regardless here I am and giving this a try. A few random things:

- I want to be with one person the rest of my life. It's not a religious thing, it's the only way that would work for me.

- Given the chance, I'm exceptionally affectionate & cuddly (long hugs, holding hands, obsessed with forehead kisses, etc). I mean I don't lead with such, it's down the line but it's important.

- I don't ever want to have kids. I've had a hard life, I deserve to have my someone all to myself and why would anyone go through all this trouble to find someone just so some slimy little goblin can tear its way out through her delicates?

We were outside together in our rural palace of dirt and stone and wood. I like laughing with you about it, our word 'palace.' Simple. Rustic. Home. While I finished stacking our winter heat source to dry itself out in the Sunday evening sun, I caught a glimpse of you as you picked a fresh cucumber from the garden on your way inside. That was enough, I thought to myself. Just that.

The cat seems to be interfering with the chopping mechanism, so I decide to stop and head inside myself, easing the silly creature to my tall, lean frame. When I set the cat gently down and stroke its back, you & I both realize I'm covered in cat hair. It seems as though the shed masses have a magnetic attraction to my sweat. Thanks for the damp towel and patting me down. A kiss. Mmmm. One more.

After a hot shower, I step out to smell something highly aromatic; tonight smells especially special. When I arrive in the kitchen, you're torquing your torso as you sift the water out of the steamed vegetables. I approach your small frame from behind and shake with you, only to share a laugh in the discovery that we're in sync to the beat of a world music hour on NPR.

It's nice out. We sit on the porch and quietly eat, talking about friends, the day, the onset of a new blister?, the waning daylight hours. Nothing in particular, yet everything important. Another fragrant, tasty meal that had me wishing you'd cook a little more often--not because I don't like to (because it's a passion)--but because everything you touch you seem to imbue with a flavor that I lack the knack for creating in association with my own concoctions. Funny how I lack it most when I'm searching for it the hardest! You always have been a good sport; providing honest feedback, and never loving me less or reducing your pride and appreciation for my hard work. Like so many things in life. I stop crunching on that fresh cucumber for a moment and turn to meet your eye. Good cucumber. I can see that you feel the same way.

You said not to do the dishes, but I'm going to do them anyway while you're in the shower. You know I seriously love to do them, that meditative practice; you're always looking to play games with my passions. A tease. Even moreso when you step through the hall with your towel hanging off, as you've always done, as I've never found myself tiring to watch.

I turn the radio up and spread myself out across the couch with my feet up. When you come in, I reach for your hand and you accept the invitation in your worn jeans and my t-shirt. You straddle me. I tell you how lovely you are. You smile and slowly lean in to kiss me--WAIT. Nope. No kissing. Settle in. This American Life is starting. I reflect your smile, and you saddle along my side as we cozy up to listen to tonight's program. My heart's racing a bit...maybe wishing the program didn't start for another hour or so... One of our favorites; for me I think it's because I always enjoy your gentle strokes to my stomach. How you take my hands, tell me how strong they are, how one certain vein appears larger than the rest on my left hand...

I fall asleep. I don't know I'm asleep though until I wake up to my arm being pulled and my body hanging halfway off the couch. The radio has been turned off, as have the lights. Just a flicker from a candle upstairs, bouncing its light on the stairwell wall. You think you're guiding me up, but I snag you and whip you back. To your own surprise you screech at my second wind, and then hop on my back for a ride to find the flickering candle. You only have to kiss me once. It may be a workday tomorrow, but priorities are priorities, you say. I couldn't agree more. I love that you always want me, exuding much patience without letting go of that want. I love that you recognize my incessant aim to please and allow me the privilege of understanding your desires at any given instant.

I'm waiting. Waiting for somebody to yank on my arm and show me a flicker. **Librarians, teachers, academics, non-profit workers, and farmers are all encouraged to respond... And don't take my pictures seriously; I'm really a sincere, laugh-loving, dork.

I have a day job but I also moonlight at a local rock club as a sound engineer and am a big supporter of local music and arts. This is possibly the best job I've ever had. There is so much talent in this town. So much awesome!

Sometimes I feel like I am not doing anything with my life, but its actually that I am just really hard on myself. I hold myself, and others, up to unreasonable expectations. I have been told that I come across as mean. I am an INFP, and I think that explains all of that.

I've been living in Portland for about 3 years now. Living with some great friends and just enjoying life. Always looking to try new things. So apparently I need to update my profile as it has been the same for a year and a half it seems.

I am currently living in Portland, trying to make it on my own. I have been out on my own before but it has not worked out. This will be my fourth attempt at being out on my own, so far it's no same from all the other times I've tried. I'm currently working as an on-call banquet server at a hotel and trying to find full time work as well. I'm a reference comedian and as so, I like to quote from television shows and movies. I do it just for fun but hopefully also to get a laugh. I hope to find somebody who will enjoy a good laugh and have some fun.

i am the straw princess. i bring love and the spirit of the earth to all of my friends and family. to those i meet i offer it on occasion. when i am strong and able i search for the cold and bitter and face it down. when i am tired and lost - i search for warmth and love and envelop myself within it.

when david bowie sings his rock and roll hymn of eternity i dance. i find the harmony which ties my soul to his and wail it out on an overamplified synthesizer - effects in motion.

The most funky dressed person you have ever seen walks out of jail daily to rock out to gothic-industrial dance music while waxing poetically, or improving comedically, before transforming two to three times a week into a bad-ass mama-jama on roller skates.

I love music, art, travel, astrology, photography....and anything beautiful. I'm definitely a social creature and hate missing out on fun. I'm open minded and always attracted to danger ;) My only real goal in life besides always learning, is traveling doing photography professionally and finding someone who's willing to be my partner in crime ;) I want to see the world and all the beauty in it. I'm doing this for fun and maybe meeting unique people. I'm usually down for whatever. Not looking for anything serious.....but i'll just let the universe do its thing.

I am a regular guy in a regular world. I love the warm weather, love outdoor activities, working out, movies, hanging with friends, being active.
I am willing to meet someone and take in interest in them to see if we click. I am sarcastic and like to have a girl that likes to laugh at the stupid things cause I'm sure I can be. So tired of girls that want a good guy, but refuse to give a good guy a chance. Don't want a girl that wants to get around please you know who you are! If you have to question it than don't message me. I want a sexy, innocent girl that wants me to work to get her cause we both deserve it cause I think my personality can help me. I'm done being some guy and want to meet a girl I can start something real with as much crap as it may sound its true. I want a girl that I can treat like she is my world however I expect that if I do I will be hers.

I don't really know what to write here, or if I'll even keep this account very long. But I guess I should let you all know that I love to bake muffins and I love baking cakes. I'm the kind of person who acts on impulse, often making me broke or out of luck, but I wouldn't live any other way.
